We were amazed at all the people that came out today, braving the cold!!
Lots of activity, picking up people, taking them home & delivering furniture :) by the way, if anyone has a couch that they do not need, as we gave one of ours away :)
The bread man did not make it today, hope everything is ok there.
The word is so getting out there about the Soup Kitchen, one fellow came and asked for the bread, he had not been to the soup kitchen yet, but we had a few buns left over we were able to send him home with :)

Soup being served today!!
Even though at this moment it is -40, we will be there :)
What a blessing that this day, Houston Food Mart is donating the soup & buns.
Be interesting of how many will be able to come out but we will be available to pick anyone up call the Houston Baptist Church 250-845-7810 or if you know of anyone and are able to bring them to the Soup Kitchen, thank you!!

God only knows.....

To walk through the door today for the sinners and saints
to walk through the fire
God only knows the love it would take

On prep day the soups that were made, Chicken Noodle & Beef Cabbage with Potato Rolls. Lots go on in the kitchen preparing :) at times we look at one another & say God choose us :) But he did chose Jonah :) and many others of the Bible :)
Wednesday was a good day, more were able to come out, the roads & sidewalks have been well taken care of, but still needing to be careful!!
Our study was good, someone sharing so much of there heart, such a yearning !!
To hear the heart of another who has such a gentle way, yet anger is rooted deep....God only knows the love it will take!!

live a life of...
love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:2
We at the Love By The Bowl, are so overflowing with love for the guests the Lord brings through the doors.
We where open the 21st & 28th of December.
I am encouraged to share stories of our journey at the soup kitchen, that being said, I find it hard at times, as a person gets so close to these amazing people & to hear of there stories & to be able to offer them a warm place, a hearty lunch & to walk beside them in there tears, joy & difficulties, to pray for them & with them. But I do know sharing gives you the opportunity to pray :)
Through Christmas it is an emotional time for some people & some shared stories that would break your heart!! In it though they felt they needed to come to a place that was happy & positive!!
Yesterday we had a good crowd, though some were missing because the side roads where so icy here.
Again the cook made two amazing soups, Cream of Potato with smokey hocks & Minestone. Her soups are also gluten free :). Served with homemade buns & cookies!!
We have a new server a young lad from the states, Who will be stepping into areas of reaching the community for the Lord :) Must get him an apron :)
The rug hooking table is taking off, the gals & guys are enjoying themselves. If anyone has 100% wool articles, you could drop off at soup kitchen on Wednesdays. If possible washed & dryed. Thank you :)
Our dear fellow who travels a bit from out of town, calls us his loves :)
A young gal who comes, shared that she had been blessed by a gift from someone of our church, so unexpected she said & how she was able to give her children that little extra :)
We have a light Bible study that happens after lunch. PTL!!
From one servant of the Lord to another servant of the Lord!!
