It all began...

with a request!!   Our precious friend Brenda has gone to be with the Lord!!

A while back on Wednesday mornings there was fair size coffee group coming to the soup kitchen.  Seeing what a great time of fellowship this was, Brenda took me aside & said how great it would be to be open another day!!  So we prayed about it & it happened!!  So our Tuesday Drop-In will be in memory of Brenda :)

A gal who's heart, was all about our Savior!!

Brenda Swansburg memorial will be held at the Houston Fellowship Church

An update....

Have missed posting on the blog, have been working the other days.

Our soup yesterday was Beef Barley & Corn Chowder.  A heartfelt thank you Houston Fellowship Baptist Church!!

Yesterday was a great day!!  The guests coming to the soup kitchen are growing (in numbers that is :) the last two weeks we have had maybe 3 bowls of soup left.

To hear the chatter, everyone visiting with each other, just a great atmosphere.

Thank you to all for your prayers & support of this ministry, in our great town of Houston :)
May the LORD repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge."  Ruth 2:12

That reward is for all, to be rich in His amazing love, through Jesus Christ our Lord !!

It was a great day!!

We were amazed at all the people that came out today, braving the cold!!

Lots of activity, picking up people, taking them home & delivering furniture :)  by the way, if anyone has a couch that they do not need, as we gave one of ours away :)

The bread man did not make it today, hope everything is ok there.

The word is so getting out there about the Soup Kitchen, one fellow came and asked for the bread, he had not been to the soup kitchen yet, but we had a few buns left over we were able to send him home with :)

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.  This is how God
showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.  This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.  Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.  No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.   1John 4:7-12

May you have a week of love, being embraced & embracing :)

God bless

Soup being served today!!

Even though at this moment it is -40, we will be there :)

What a blessing that this day, Houston Food Mart is donating the soup & buns.

Be interesting of how many will be able to come out but we will be available to pick anyone up call the Houston Baptist Church 250-845-7810 or if you know of anyone and are able to bring them to the Soup Kitchen, thank you!!

God bless
